ARCADIA NEWS PHOTO CONTEST RULES
As much as possible, we have attempted to avoid the use of legal language in these rules. Because of this, we reserve the right to change or modify the rules, or the prizes, and discontinue or extend this contest without prior notice.

OWNERSHIP/CONSENT
You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit -- including ownership if applicable. You only grant the Arcadia News rights (as described below) to publish your image in any medium without compensation. YOUR PHOTO, CONTACT INFORMATION AND OTHER DETAILS WILL NOT BE SHARED WITH ANYONE OUTSIDE OF THE ARCADIA NEWS. Entrants agree to provide a consent / release of any recognizable people in their photo, upon request.

You grant the Arcadia News a royalty-free, nonexclusive right, in perpetuity, to:
  • Use the photograph in print and on the internet in support of our community newspaper and photo contest.
  • Use the photograph in communications sent from the Arcadia News.
  • Use, in connection with the Photo Contest, your name, in promotion of Arcadia News contests.
  • Keep the files provided, and to archive the images on CD or in other electronic forms, so that your photos can be used and properly credited.

ANNOUNCING WINNERS
Each month, the winning entry will be printed in the Arcadia News, in our Flickr Photostream and on the Arcadia News Facebook page. Winners will be notified by phone or e-mail, and may come and receive congratulatory accolades while picking up their prize(s) at the Arcadia News office, or we may opt to use the US Postal Service to handle this important duty. Toward the end of the year, a Grand Prize Winner will be selected and published in the April, 2013 edition of Arcadia News, on the Arcadia Photo Contest Web Site, and on the Arcadia News Facebook page.

HOW TO ENTER
Photos may be submitted online at the Photo Contest Web Site (http://www.arcadiapix.com), via e-mail (photos@arcadianews.com) or may be delivered to the Arcadia News office (3850 E. Indian School Rd., Ste 1., Phoenix AZ 85018). Photographer name and description is necessary for proper attribution. Entries received without this information will be discarded. 

Please use the largest resolution possible for entries – we want to reproduce them in print as best as possible. 300 dpi is the ideal size, but not everyone knows what that means, so please just send us the largest file you can get your hands on (20MB Max). Deadline for each month is the 15th at Noon of the month prior. LIMIT: 2 ENTRIES PER PHOTOGRAPHER PER MONTHLY THEME, PLEASE.

PRIZES
Monthly winner will receive a gift card (or two!) to a local restaurant in the approximate value of $50. Some of the gift cards we are hoarding, that we are now excited to award: Delux, Revo Burrito, TeePee, 5th & Wine, Humble Pie and Fox Restaurant Concepts.

Grand Prize winner (Photo of the Year) will receive a $200 Gift Card to B&H Photo Video Superstore.
